Cannibal Kindle Copy

Ilana Mercer, South-Africa, Technology

To all the Kindle customers of “Into The Cannibal’s Pot,”

Amazon assures me that the newly formatted, splendid Kindle copy that I worked to upload is now available. The errors of the previous copy have been corrected.

Kindle Direct Publishing informs me that, “Any customer who purchases [“Into The Cannibal’s Pot”] for the first time will get the revised edition.” And that their “technical team is working towards automating the process,” whereby “customers who have already purchased a Kindle book can automatically download the revised content.”

Amazon will also attempt to notifying customers who previously purchased a less-than-optimal Kindle copy of my book that a well-formatted copy is now online.

The “Search Inside the Book” feature for both The Cannibal’s ebook (Kindle) and hardcopy should be activated shortly.

Best to all,

ilana

UPDATE II: On ‘The Right Perspective’

Ilana On Radio & TV, IlanaMercer.com, Media, South-Africa

I will be discussing “Into the Cannibal’s Pot: Lessons for America from Post-Apartheid South Africa,” on “The Right Perspective,” with Frank of Queens and John of Staten Island, tonight, Friday, July 29, at 7:30pm Pacific.

UPDATE I (July 30): PODCAST now available.

UPDATE II (July 31): Frank of Queens and John of Staten Island are brilliant but wickedly impolitic. They are generalists; they know so much. I like to focus on particular aspects of Into the cannibal’s Pot, which is such a wide-ranging work. That’s not always easy.

By the way, JP, you were wise to order the hard-copy, an update of which is now in circulation. I am being told by customers that the Kindle copy is formatted badly. I hope to get it corrected asap. I’ve learned not to rely on anyone but my self (but how much can one person do?), in the future.

‘Meet the Rapex’

Crime, Democracy, Gender, GUNS, Political Correctness, Private Property, Racism, Sex, South-Africa

The Rapex is a female condom, “The hollow inside of which is lined with rows of razor-sharp hooks. These are designed to latch on to a rapist’s penis during penetration. They can only be removed by a doctor.” The context? A last-ditch, desperate defense against endemic rape, the kind that occurs every 26 seconds in South Africa.

(Or “Jackrolling,” as young African men in South Africa jocularly refer to this group, recreational “activity.” See pages 15 to 16 of Into the Cannibal’s Pot: Lessons for America from Post-Apartheid South Africa, for story and citations.)

Army veteran and gun-rights activist Nicki Fellenzer reviews Into the Cannibal’s Pot. Nicki is our First Lady reviewer, and what a gal she is.
