Who’s Killing Whose People Again?

Judging from America’s angels and demons foreign policy production, starring “the prototypical evil dictator who was killing his noble people,” one would never have predicted (NOT) this following development, in Syria, documented by Human Rights Watch:

“Armed opposition groups in Syria are committing atrocities. Abuses include kidnapping, detention, and torture of security force members, government supporters, and people identified as members of pro-government militias, called shabeeha. Human Rights Watch has also received reports of executions by armed opposition groups of security force members and civilians.”

Remind me who is killing whose people again?

    Two sayings are applicable:

    1. Mao’s famous dictum – political power comes out the barrel of a gun. Or perhaps “you were expecting Mahatma Ghandi??”

    2. As for America interfering in this civil unrest – the saying “I have no dog in this fight” is also on the money.

We need to get involved in Syria just like a pig needs a side saddle. Besides, I thought Lichtenstein was the next to be invaded. [I love it; keep this up. I need a laugh.]

In fact, “we” (that is, Isramerica) very definitely has a dog in the Syrian fight. By overthrowing Assad’s Shia regime and bringing the Sunni Moslem Brotherhood to power, “we” undo the slight mistake “we” made in Iraq – putting a Shia regime in place – and so break the current Shi’ite Crescent running from Tehran through Baghdad and Damascus & on to Hezbollah in south Lebanon. As a run-in to the IranWar, it’s actually an intelligent strategy. Too bad the Russians are standing in the way.
