What Women & Minority Majority Transformations Do To Elections

Democracy, Democrats, Donald Trump, Elections, Feminism, Gender, Left-Liberalism And Progressivisim, Republicans

The area “in or near Orange County, the densely-populated suburbs between Los Angeles and San Diego … were once an unassailable Republican fortress.” (“Orange Is The New Purple,” The Economist, Oct 20th 2018.)

“The OC” incubated Barry Goldwater’s conservatism and was home to Richard Nixon. Until 2016, its voters had last backed a Democratic presidential candidate in 1936, when they voted for FDR.

But the fortress has fallen to shifts in the population. Orange County, which used to be the colour of pith, is now minority majority with 34% of its population Hispanic and 21% Asian. Its voter registration reflects the change. It is 35% Republican, 34% Democrat and 27% independent, the definition of a competitive district.

The change that has most salience, though, is the rise in the number of university-educated people, especially women. In four of the five closest-fought districts in the county, graduates make up 28-34% of voters. Fully three-quarters of California’s female college graduates disapprove of Mr Trump (compared with 58% of male graduates and 61% of women who did not graduate). More than two-thirds [said] they [would] vote Democratic.

Watch Randi Kaye Generate Fake News For CNN

Elections, Ethics, Journalism, Media

Here is the SHAMEFUL Randi Kaye of CNN. She is not asking her subjects open-ended question, as a journalist should.

INSTEAD, Kaye’s questions suggest the right answers her subjects must furnish. And when the subjects reply, Kaye has chosen to do a partial voice-over, rather than allow the viewers to  hear their opinions unvarnished.

Disgraceful. The very embodiment of generating Fake News.

Fortunately, President Trump Doesn’t Listen To A Fellow Called Karl Rove

Bush, Democrats, Donald Trump, Elections, Politics, Republicans

Four minutes and 25 seconds into the segment with Martha MacCallum, Karl Rove, forever ubiquitous in the establishment and thus a fixture on Fox News—can be heard preaching to Trump to take the high-ground and not attack Democrats for blaming the president for Cesar Sayoc’s actions.

The opportunistic Rove was once a vocal Never Trumper who has never been particularly politically astute.

Fortunately, Donald Trump doesn’t listen to establishmentarians and continues to make moron the media furious. See the Atlantic’s long gripe, here:

Trump’s Incoherent Rally in Charlotte: The president calls for harmony, then attacks. He demands honesty, then lies. He insists on an end to personal attacks, then insults his opponents.

UPDATES (10/16/018): Beware: Dem Witches Are Coming. The Women’s Takeover Of Society Is A Bitch

Democrats, Donald Trump, Elections, Feminism, Left-Liberalism And Progressivisim

“The #MeToo movement … has become the defining cultural phenomenon of the Trump era,” enthuses the Economist.

On January 21st 2017, one day after his inauguration, millions of people across America (and the world) took to the streets for the Women’s March. Many of those who marched said that watching the first major-party female presidential candidate lose was painful; watching her lose to a man who has referred to several women as “dogs” and “piece[s] of ass” was infuriating.

During the previous election cycle, 920 women contacted EMILY’s List, a political action committee devoted to electing pro-choice Democratic women, about running for office. Since Mr Trump’s election, more than 42,000 have. Half the Democrats’ first-time House candidates this year are women, up from 27% in 2016 (and far higher than the Republican share of less than 20%). From a field that includes Senators Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Kirsten Gillibrand and Amy Klobuchar, the Democratic presidential ticket in 2020 will probably include at least one female candidate.

And as quickly as women are flocking to the Democrats, many appear to be fleeing Republicans. The 2016 gender gap of 24 points (women supported Hillary Clinton by 13; men went for Mr Trump by 11) was already the largest on record. According to an average of three recent polls compiled by National Public Radio, the same gap exists for this year’s mid-terms, but with a stronger leftward lean. Women favour Democrats by 21; men favour Republicans by 3.

Since women vote at greater rates than men, that swing should worry Republicans.

The women’s takeover of society is a bitch. It’s bad.
