UPDATE III (7/26): Sacha Baron Cohen On Arming Toddlers: ‘My Son, May He Rest in Peace, Was In The Program, He Died Doing What I Love.’ Priceless.

Comedy & Humor, Conservatism, GUNS, Intelligence, Israel, libertarianism, Morality, Political Correctness, Politics

Former Illinois congressman Joe Walsh is an idiot.
Former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott is an idiot.
Ditto Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina.
Don’t know what’s up with Philip Van Cleave, the Virginian who heads a citizen’s self-defense league. But nobody would exhibit stupidity for the sake of politeness. His dumbness might just be a natural state.
Lobbyist Larry Pratt, director of Gun Owners of America: He certainly convinces one of his studied stupidity.

What did they do?

Obediently they recited the following lines in front of a camera:

“The way to stop a bad guy with a gun… is a good kid with a gun.”

“The intensive three-week Kinderguardian course introduces specially selected children from 12 to 4 years old to pistols, rifles, semiautomatics, and a rudimentary knowledge of mortars. In less than a month — less than a month — a first-grader can become a first-grenade-er. Happy shooting, kids.”

Children under five also have elevated levels of the pheromone Blink-182, produced by the part of the liver known as the Rita Ora. This allows nerve reflexes to travel along the Cardi B neural pathway to the Wiz Khalifa 40% faster.”

Toddlers are pure, uncorrupted by fake news or homosexuality. They don’t care if it’s politically correct to shoot a mentally deranged gunman. They’ll just do it.”

“… children can process images quicker than adults, meaning that, essentially like owls, they can see in slow motion.”

And they’re OK with their interviewer, Sasha Baron Cohen, chiming in on the merits of arming toddler: “My son, may he rest in peace, was in the first program, he died doing what I love. … They try [in the US] to stop 4-year-olds from having guns? What is the logic ???!”

Terribly funny.

But also an object lesson in what politicians would agree to recite and do, to benefit their agenda (good or bad) and their special interests.

In his latest skit, comedic genius Sacha Baron Cohen takes the mickey out of your typical, Fox News, Israeli “anti-terror expert.” His character is called Col. Erran Morad, and he has a recognizably hypnotic effect on US Republicans.

Cohen’s is also the type of satire American comedians no longer do for fear of disobeying the PC police. The reductio ad absurdum is bloody good.

This is certainly a worthy dig at politicians who’re both deeply stupid and will say anything if an Israeli krav maga knucklehead tells them to.

In any event, Cohen didn’t need to work hard to persuade “former and current Republican lawmakers [to endorse] the idea of arming school children as young as four with guns.”

The only honest-to-goodness smart representative was the Republican from Florida, Matt Gaetz. Incredulous, he asked scary Sasha:

“You want me to say on television that I support 3- and 4-year-olds with firearms? Is that what you’re asking me?”

No can do. I don’t think so.

This is wicked funny and good libertarian fun. Sacha Baron Cohen does a public service, exposing the stupid herd of politicians (and one smart one). Now let’s see Cohen mock the Left.

UPDATE I (7/18): Joe Walsh: “Sasha Baron Cohen gets people to say stupid things.”

No. Cohen gets stupid people to say stupid things.

UPDATE II (7/24): Cohen, who first coined the term “crap countries” before “shitholes,” courtesy Trump, needs now to offend the Left.

UPDATE III (7/26):

Republicans are complaining that “Liberals are Outraged Over Obviously Satirical Alexandria Cortez Interview.” That’s legit just as Shasa Baron Cohen’s satire was legit. Why, then, did conservatives bitch about the Cohen skit? The GOP YouTube blond can’t hold a candle to Cohen’s comedy.

This woman is not funny.

UPDATED (7/9): Left-Libertarians Are A Lot Like Neoconservatives, Certainly On Immigration

Britain, EU, Europe, IMMIGRATION, Left-Liberalism And Progressivisim, libertarianism

Wasn’t Spiked editor Brendan O’Neill once an open-borders advocate (oh yes), himself someone to weaponize the topic of immigration against anyone on the hard-Right?

Now he’s suddenly warning, as the hard-Right has been doing forever, that elites are weaponizing immigration against host populations.

Wasn’t Brendan one of those “open minds, open borders” sloganeers, ever so enamored with his own open mind?

Indeed, “Let them in,” O’Neill once admonished. Don’t “infantilise African migrants. … welcome them.”

Late to the party, as left-libertarians always are, O’Neill has discovered that immigration, too, is a state program, one used to subdue the host population. What do you know? Being on the left (in a manner)  means you never have to say you’re sorry.

UPDATE (7/9):

Michael Medved and David Rubin (the one neoconish; the other left-libertarian) were going back-and-forth on The Medved Show about immigration. At bottom, both are liberal apologists with a veneer of establishment conservatism. “Bring ’em out of the shadows, path to citizenship,” blah, blah.

TV Judge Napolitano’s Nonsensical Indictment Of Trump Border Policy

IMMIGRATION, Law, Left-Liberalism And Progressivisim, libertarianism, Natural Law, UN

Judge Napolitano is a left-libertarian. Always said so. On this site, I have often  exposed and argued against  his lefty exploits. Here he essentially asserts that if X trespasses into your home, you can’t, in natural law, remove him. Crap. I hazard that, were you to research this bit of Napolitano legalism, you’d find he’s hiding/finessing certain aspects of due-process jurisprudence.

UPDATE (7/2): I might not have phrased my words above well. Responses on Facebook certainly indicate so. My bad. I am a huge proponent of natural law. However, I think Napolitano here is not articulating natural justice at all, but is full of it. His is more legalism than natural law. I am sure there is a state-passed law somewhere that judges like him can use to criminalize what President Trump is doing. I doubt it’s natural law. Where in natural law does it imply that trespassers have to be kept in their natural clans and formations? That nonsense would be the purview of the positive law, most certainly “international law.”

Of course, “Libertarian and leftist protest over any impediment to the free flow of people across borders is predicated not on the negative, leave-me-alone rights of the individual, but on the positive, manufactured right of human kind to venture wherever, whenever.”—ILANA (May 1, 2009)

“Liberal Brains Are Pickled In The Formaldehyde Of Identity Politics”

Constitution, Democrats, Donald Trump, Ethics, Law, Left-Liberalism And Progressivisim, libertarianism, Republicans, War

THE NEW COLUMN IS “Liberal Brains Are Pickled In The Formaldehyde Of Identity Politics.” It’s now on WND.com and on the Unz Review.

“There are no more civil libertarians left,” warned celebrated attorney Alan Dershowitz.

The topic was the left. The location was Tucker Carlson’s TV studio, May 30.

Dershowitz, a life-long liberal and civil-libertarian, has refused “to allow partisan politics to pre-empt his views on the Constitution,” in general, and in the matter of Grand Inquisitor Robert Mueller and his tribunal, in particular.

Conversely, the  American Civil Liberties Union has supported the FBI’s manifestly unconstitutional raid on Michael Cohen’s offices, even asserting that the seizing of client-attorney privileged files from the Trump attorney was kosher.

“… all indications thus far are that the search was conducted pursuant to the rule of law,” crowed the ACLU, in “stunning rebuke to the basic concepts behind the [organization’s] mission.”

To ACLU silence—and in contravention of that quaint thing called the Fourth Amendment—Mueller had previously taken possession of tens of thousands of emails exchanged among President Donald Trump’s transition team.

The meek, weak Jeff Sessions has failed miserably to bust these sham, kangaroo-court proceedings, leading former House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz to carp: “The attorney general is just not up to the job.”

In the absence of an effective legal counterweight, Mueller, of course, is getting away with it.

On TV, Dershowitz has been joined by the talented Mr. Turley (Jonathan Turley, Esquire), in protesting the warrantless theft of the Trump campaign’s emails.

Let the record show that Dumbo Napolitano (Fox’s Judge Andrew) seconded Mueller’s legal authority, declaring, on December 18, 2017, that, “Mueller did not improperly obtain Trump’s transition emails.”

Talk to the hand, Judge Napolitano, because this face ain’t listening to you any longer.

“The left is less interested in civil liberties,” observed Tucker, ruefully, to which Alan Dershowitz quipped: “The ACLU is dead in the water when it comes to defending the civil liberties of people they don’t agree with.”

Do “the shoe is on the other foot test,” Dershowitz instructs. Ask yourself: “If the shoe were on the other foot, would you be taking the same position you’re taking today?” Everyone has to pass it.

Having taken the test, you’ll sympathize with the intractable positions against the partisanship of justice, taken by civil libertarians like Alan Dersh and libertarians like this writer. …

…  Another near-extinct political animal is your old-school, antiwar liberal. …
