UPDATE II: Dropped Into The Black Hole Of Disinformation

Crime, Criminal Injustice, Media, Objectivism, Race, Racism, Reason

“Dropped Into The Black Hole Of Disinformation” is the latest column, now on WND. Some excerpts:

“There is no clear motive for why the murder happened,” a CNN reporter chanted robotically, in what has been for as long as I can remember SOP (standard operating procedure) in major media. Whenever a black murders a white—which is four times more often than the reverse—the salient features of the crime disappear into a black hole of disinformation.

By salient features I mean, in the main, information pertaining to the skin color of the perpetrator and victim, and the extraordinary brutality with which the villain typically goes about exterminating his victim.

Overkill is the word I’m looking for.

Observe the face of hate (Curtis Lavelle Vance’s) and the object of Vance’s hatred, news anchor Anne Pressly, of blessed memory. Then read the details of Vance’s assault on Pressly. Pressly’s pale, pretty face Vance pounded to an unrecognizable pulp. The killer aimed, very plainly, to annihilate her.

All too often submerged as well is the exquisite vulnerability of victims of unrecognized racial hatred.

Of this particular stark element, however, it was impossible to strip the murder of baby Antonio Santiago. …

… Trust the police in the evergreen and always pinko state to finesse the murder of a white veteran [Delbert Belton, 88, from Spokane, in Wash] by blacks with assurances that it was “a random attack.” Robbery was the sole motive in Belton’s murder.

These assurances were offered up by Spokane Police Chief Frank Straub. Not that anyone in the pinko state and beyond paused to ask, but why, if the beating of Belton was motivated by greed or need only, did the perpetrators proceed to pulverize grandpa’s face with “big heavy flashlights”?

Elementary, my dear Watson.

The boys in blue from the pink state may not be there to defend you when your turn comes, but they can be trusted to ennoble your killers.

The old man, explained the stupid Straub, “fought back against his attackers, and that may have contributed to the severity of the beating his received.”

Do you get Straub’s drift? Unless they state otherwise, goons of color harbor only the purest of motives when gunning for honky.

Since he was being interviewed by national media, Straub quickly expressed his commitment not to protecting Spokane residents from such killers, but to “institu[ting] a mentoring program” for the likes of Delbert Belton’s killers.

Mark Griffiths, another genius from the Spokane Police, seconded that “there was no indication that [the 88-year-old WWII veteran] would have known these people prior to the assault.” Ergo, the motive was robbery.

In non sequitur land, strangers do not harbor hate, and criminals do not multitask—in other words, never do they rob people while simultaneously acting out their darkest desires. (And, by logical extension, the Nazis, who killed millions of strangers, could not have been motivated both by hate and greed.)

Au contraire. “These people” – the barbarians who blattered the veteran who’d survived the Battle of Okinawa – knew quite a bit about Belton … by the color of his skin.

As did Mona Yvette Nelson “know” Jonathan Paul Foster was The One she would kidnap, torture and torch. Nelson “knew” Foster from … his fair, white skin and red hair. …

UPDATE I: THE LOVE JUST KEEPS FLOWING. “‘Kick [the white [expletive] in the head. Kick her head in the concrete.’”

Ilana, you are a national treasure. I have forwarded this to my contacts, as I almost always do. It is quite a coincidence that I had only hours ago sent you the fictional “letter” from the little boy who was shot in the face (murdered) because he and his mother were white.

Our Parallel Economic Universe

Crime, Economy, Objectivism, Political Economy, Politics, Propaganda, Reason

Financier Peter Schiff’s findings of fact in Florida V. George Zimmerman are much like mine in “The Colosseum of Courtroom Cretins,” where it was noted that “Idiocracy elite lacks the ability to separate the political constructs to which it is wedded (racism) from the facts of a case brought in a court of law.”

Or, as Mr. Schiff puts it in “Print the Legend”: “preconceived emotional commitments to a narrative [consistently trumped] demonstrable facts.”

Schiff goes on to compare the parallel reality constructed in the response to the Zimmerman acquittal and the fiction of our economic indices:

“The vast majority of observers continue to subscribe to the dominant narrative that our economy is improving, the Fed’s Quantitative Easing programs are responsible, and that the debt we are currently accumulating is not a long-term problem.”

“The current administration, the media, Wall Street, and the Fed itself, are particularly committed to this narrative. After all, we have been pursuing these policies for more than five years, and many of these parties have a particular emotional and pecuniary investment in a positive outcome. It would be difficult for them now to admit that their preferred cures have not only been ineffective, but harmful. As a result, they will continue to advocate for the current policies until they get the answers they expect.”

“Not only do their underlying assumptions defy economic law and objective rationality, but they are also at odds with the evidence that continues to arrive. The data makes it clear that while asset prices (stocks, bonds, and real estate), are currently being inflated by an activist monetary policy, the real economy continues to stagnate. What supports do exist are based solely on government intervention. Yet they nevertheless discuss a potential Fed exit strategy as if the economy were in a position to make such a transition without bringing on an even more severe recession than the last. In this light, the failure of QEI to produce a real recovery led directly to QEII, and so on to QE Infinity. We are unwilling to challenge our initial assumptions about what is really wrong with our economy and how to fix it.”

“To get a sense of justice and emotional clarity over the death of Trayvon Martin, many cling to the image of a saintly youth and ignore the more difficult reality of a troubled teen picking a fight with an inept neighborhood watchman. Accepting this reality does not lead to a conclusion that Trayvon deserved to die, but it denies the self-justifying conclusions that keep race relations dysfunctional. It also allows us to ignore more troubling and far more common tragedies like the one that befell 18 year old Jett Higham, another African American youth who lost his life in a nighttime run to a local convenience store. The media decided that this tragedy was a non-story, as his killers were also African Americans teens.” [Emphasis added.]

UPDATE II: The Mad, Moronic, Unapologetic Showmen & Women Of Mainstream Media (The Bombing Suspects & The Know-Nothings Of Big Media)

Celebrity, Intelligence, Journalism, Media, Objectivism, Propaganda, Terrorism

Over the course of a few hours today (April 17), the hysterical and histrionic US media—front men and women for CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, and the rest—have gone from asserting the arrest of a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, to screening amateur images of their fantasy felon, to decamping to the courthouse in expectation of an arraignment, to confessing without a smidgen of shame that nothing of the sort had transpired.

We lied. OK, we fibbed. Let’s move on. Quick. There is to be no meta reporting about the misreporting.

“No arrests in Boston bombing.”

How ironic, then, that readers have demanded that I justify, even atone, for my assessment of the sum-total of one coequal (female) branch of the media-military-congressional complex:

“Big hair, an overbite, botox and mind-numbing banalities.”

UPDATE I: “FBI scolds media…” Justifiably. Still, pot, kettle, black.

UPDATE II (April 18): BEATING JON STEWART TO CALLING THE MEDIA’S BLUFF. You’d have saved time—and spared yourself the confusion generated on the Colosseum of cretins that is American mainstream media—had you, my reader, come straight to Barely A Blog for news and commentary served up straight. Think about it: Jon Stewart, a comedian who cleaves to fact (if not to liberty’s principles), only aired the truth later that evening.

Barely a Blog beat Jon Stewart to it. BAB called the media’s bluff @ 11:20 am on that day (April 17).

Show your appreciation.

UPDATE III: THE SUSPECTS & THE KNOW-NOTHINGS OF BIG MEDIA. “Arrogant, blasé, completely casual, brazen”: These are some of the adjectives the big mouths of big media are using to describe the demeanor of the 2 Boston bombing suspects in the footage released by the FBI.

These security and counter-intelligence loudmouths festooning cable and news networks and carrying forth on TV know nothing; they know no more than you do. They are just moving their giant gobs, performing as the compulsive exhibitionists that they are.

Wolf’s Watergate

Journalism, Media, Objectivism, Pop-Culture

When Wolf Blitzer framed one of his upcoming news teases as “Watergate,” this morning, I thought he was being a Smart Alec about Carnival Triumph, the cruise liner whose “propulsion system” was “paralyzed” by a fire in the engine room.

The ocean liner was left “temporarily marooned in the Gulf of Mexico, subject to the whims of wind and sea currents.

As to the delicate bouquet that is wafting from the Waste Liner:

“…the sanitary situation had already begun to deteriorate on board the Triumph. …the conditions have gotten so bad that they’re asking them to use the restroom in bags, and they were eating onion sandwiches …
Much of the ship’s electrical power went down in the fire, causing widespread malfunctions, including taking out sanitary systems.
Passengers have reported sewage sloshing around in hallways, flooded rooms and trouble getting enough to eat.
“It’s disgusting. It’s the worst thing ever,” passenger Ann Barlow told CNN.

But no. By “Watergate,” Wolf was “absurdly” and perfectly seriously wondering “if Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) pausing his State of the Union response for a drink of water would ‘break’ his career. The CNN chyron flashed “Career-ender?”

“So can a drink of water make or break a political career?” Blitzer asked.”

Just as you think that the remaking of “news” had reached an all-time postmodern low …
