Updated: CNN On Tea Protest: ‘Not Really Family Viewing’

Journalism, Left-Liberalism And Progressivisim, Liberty, Media, Propaganda, Race, Taxation

How far has the level of “news” fallen when a reporter doesn’t know that her role is to report, not editorialize.

The following is an irate display of ignorance and arrogance by a CNN anchor (via Glenn Beck). Following a rude “exchange”–it was certainly not an interview–with a clean-cut patriot carrying a toddler, who addressed the vile woman respectfully as “Ma’am,” Madam resorted to this rant:

“I think you get the general tenor of this. It’s anti-government, anti-CNN, since this is highly promoted by the rightwing conservative network Fox. And since I can’t really hear much more and I think this is not really family viewing, toss it back to you.”

Note the tone “Susan Roesgen” adopts; it drips contempt. Roesgen ought to be fired, simply because this is not journalism; it’s activism.

Update I (April 18): CNN defended Roesgen: “She was doing her job, and called it like she saw it.” From oral-sex jokes to red neck and racist insults: there has been not a vestige of honest reporting about tea party protests from mainstream malpractitioners.

Me, Myself And I = Michelle O

Affirmative Action, Barack Obama, Britain, Education, Etiquette, Feminism, Race, The Zeitgeist

“Being smart is cooler than anything in the world,” America’s first lady told a gaggle of squealing, high-fiving, weeping girls at a North London school. And Michelle Obama should know, no?

“If you want to know the reason why I am standing here, it’s because of education,” she told them.

“I never cut class. I loved getting As, I liked being smart. I liked being on time. I thought being smart is cooler [should be “was cooler”] than anything in the world. You, too, with these values, can control your own destiny. You, too, can pave the way.” She urged them to believe in their dreams.

“For nothing in my life ever would have predicted that I would be standing here as the first African-American First Lady [There she goes again]. I was not raised with wealth or resources or any social standing to speak of. I was raised on the South Side of Chicago — that’s the real part of Chicago.”

Cut the cr-p.

Michelle Obama was raised in a country where affirmative action saw to it that mediocrities like herself usurped the real meritocracy. That pesky detail the first wife forgot.

I read Michelle’s university thesis; it’s the product of a banal, third-rate mind. I grant that her meteoric rise had to do with some hard work and pushy grit, but, more than anything, Michelle is a product of affirmative action—a product of a society where, as Joseph Farah put it “black [is] the new color of privilege.”

Devout ‘Gentle Giant’ Felled By Deviant Gangster

Crime, Multiculturalism, Race, Racism, The West

Young Jimmy Mizen confronted a born bully in an almost archaic manner: “Some manners would not go amiss,” said this English, Catholic, alter boy to his killer. A member of a large, traditional family, Mizen was, in manners and mien, an embodiment of a goodness that goons of a different culture and world seek instinctively to destroy. There is more than a bad temper to this wicked, unprovoked murder; there’s racial hatred—the same rage that made the ugly inside-and-out Curtis Lavelle Vance extinguish the beautiful Anne Pressly.

Larry Auster tells a story we’ve grown accustomed to hearing:

“In a suburban London baker’s shop last May, 16 year old Jimmy Mizen was murdered by 19 year old Jake Fahri who smashed a heavy glass bakery dish into Jimmy’s face with such force it severed his jugular vein and his carotid artery and he bled to death.

An excellent thing about the Mail that puts it above any U.S. paper and probably any British paper is the detail with which it recounts violent crimes, as it does here, giving a full picture not only of Jimmy’s murder but of the history of the killer’s interactions with the Mizen family preceding the murder and the effect of the murder on the family. The Mail takes murder seriously, as it ought to be taken. A notable and disturbing exception was the Mail’s vague, minimal coverage of the beheading of Patrick McGee last December in Manchester. Also, while the Mail and other British media have given a lot of coverage to the Jimmy Mizen murder, they have been completely silent about the racial aspect of the murder, a white killed by a mixed-race thug.”
