Israel Maintains An Oil Pipeline With Iran, While Urging The US To Aggress Against The Islamic Republic

Foreign Policy, Iran, Israel, Neoconservatism, Trade

My-my. Israel maintains an oil pipeline with Iran. It is alleged that “Iranian oil no longer flows through the pipeline.” What’s not in dispute is that Israel urges the US to aggress against Iran, while it keeps its options open.

Trade is excellent always. It forestalls war (something that makes neocons like Mad Max Boot a very sad boy). Israel should trade with regional powers. It should just refrain from hypocrisy—getting the US to fight battles Israel itself is trying to admirably avert via trade.

There is great secrecy, not least a gag order, involved in the dealings of the Eilat-Ashkelon Pipeline Co (EAPC) a joint venture with Iran, set up in 1968.

Israel, worried about national security, maintains tight control over EAPC, to the extent that articles about its business dealings must pass through the military censor.

Instead of renewing EAPC’s concession, which came up this year, Israel formed a new company with the same initials, the Europe Asia Pipeline Co, owned by the government. It will take over the original EAPC’s responsibilities by September, with an option to extend the handover period an additional six months.

Parliament’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee said in a statement on Sunday that it had extended the gag order on EAPC for five more years and broadened it to include the new company, known as EAPC-B, as well.

The chummy tweet Press Secretary Sean Spicer shot to his awful predecessor, Josh Earnest, is the only bad thing in an otherwise spectacular first press conference. With his vigor, energy and focus, Spicer’s boss, POTUS Trump, puts 20-year-olds to shame.

Trump Changing Corporate Culture; Media Start Loving On Free-Market Capitalism

Business, Capitalism, Donald Trump, Free Markets, Left-Liberalism And Progressivisim, Media, Trade

The exuberant, America-First patriotism of President-elect Donald Trump is likely causing a chain reaction of sorts. Despite the gush and tosh from the deranged media, Trump has done nothing to pressure corporations to remain in the US—nothing but reiterate his campaign promises. But a powerful persona’s mindset is infectious, especially when coupled with the promise of a better economic climate. Trump is changing corporate hearts and minds about investing in America and its people. In order to frame this good thing as bad, the media have suddenly discovered a love of free-market capitalism. By triggering a change in corporate culture; Trump has the media louts decrying his assault on capitalism and his fostering of crony capitalism.

LOL: Free-market capitalism has been an “unknown ideal” in the US for a long time.

Ford is canceling plans to build a new plant in Mexico. It will invest $700 million in Michigan instead, creating 700 new U.S. jobs.

Ford (F) CEO Mark Fields said the investment is a “vote of confidence” in the pro-business environment being created by Donald Trump. However, he stressed Ford did not do any sort of special deal with the president-elect.

“We didn’t cut a deal with Trump. We did it for our business,” Fields told CNN’s Poppy Harlow in an exclusive interview Tuesday.

The $700 million investment will go to the Flat Rock, Michigan plant to produce more electric and self-driving cars. Ford believes electrified vehicles will outsell gas-powered vehicles within the next 15 years.

Ford is planning to roll out seven new electric vehicles in the next five years, including a Mustang Hybrid.

This is a major U-turn for Ford. Trump repeatedly slammed Ford on the campaign trail for shipping U.S. jobs to Mexico (a claim the company said was wrong). The president-elect has kept up the pressure. Just hours before the Ford announcement, Trump criticized GM (GM) for producing cars in Mexico. All of the big car manufacturers currently have some production in Mexico. …

UPDATE II (12/9): The America-First Significance of Barack Obama’s Dust-Up With Bibi (& Putin)

Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Israel, Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, Russia, Trade

In the words of the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, “Almost every level of dialogue with the United States is frozen.” As a spiteful Barack Obama prepares to punish Russia for infractions the American people, by-and-large, do not believe Russia committed—the American president watches his legacy slip away.

And Israel, seeing a weakness in Obama’s crumbling facade, has pounced.

Sequence:

First was the UN to pass a resolution, Friday, stating “that the establishment of settlements ‘has no legal validity and constitutes a flagrant violation under international law and a major obstacle to the achievement of the two-state solution and a just, lasting and comprehensive peace.'” (BBCNews)

Next was the US’s “decision to abstain” from vetoing the resolution.

Last came Bibi Netanyahu’s well-timed fury. The Israeli prime minister has asserted that the US orchestrated the admittedly idiotic vote against Israel. Knowing Obama, that seems entirely plausible.

Left-liberal civil libertarian Alan Dershowitz piled on by slamming Obama for lying to him early in his presidency about being friend to Israel.

Obama will further spin into spiteful oblivion when he tries to take a parting shot at Russia.

Why is this all good for America Firsters? The Process of Trump, delineated in the book “The Trump Revolution,” is ongoing. Trump, inadvertently and tactically, is chipping away at Obama’s so-called legacy, as the Left, steered by the nits at the CNN network, desperately galvanizes court historians to prop-up our empty vessel of a president.

UPDATE I (12/9): You’re witnessing a fit of pique from Barack Hussein Obama, in whom you have a loser fighting for his legacy, not for the American People.
