MERCER’S Like A Man …

My reply to John’s recent email about the Mercer writing style and thinking being like those of a man:

“Yes, I like that. But most men no longer write, think or behave like men ought to.
Post your comment to my Unz Review column and you’ll see THE REACTION you get from THE MINI MEN who dog me.”

Just one example.

The oracular Dr. Sam Johnson, from his perspective in England of the 1770s, would have caned these mini men for their lack of manners. He certainly would have failed the prose of most men and women today for its billowing, self-indulgent quality.

A Brief Word On A Short-Lived Brexit

I suppose I should write a formal essay, only I’m presently too worn down by the pantomime to think again at any length about our failed departure from the European Union. So here is a comment I placed last night on FaceBook:

John Pate is right. There will be no Brexit. The parliamentary stalemate will continue into January, when everyone will agree to a deferral of the leaving date from March to December.

The stalemate will then continue until everyone “reluctantly” agrees to a new referendum. This time, the Sheeple will vote as told. This is the only likely outcome. No preparations have been made for leaving without a deal. Some degree of chaos is inevitable – inevitable because planned. The only deal on offer is worse than staying in. If asked, I will vote again to leave. But enough will vote to stay.

This is, I confess, a disappointing outcome. On the other hand, it is better than having lost the first referendum. Enough people will know we have been defrauded this time for the Conservative Party to be ripped apart. And that will be a reasonably positive outcome.

Wasn’t Spiked editor Brendan O’Neill once an open-borders advocate (oh yes), himself someone to weaponize the topic of immigration against anyone on the hard-Right?

Now he’s suddenly warning, as the hard-Right has been doing forever, that elites are weaponizing immigration against host populations.

Wasn’t Brendan one of those “open minds, open borders” sloganeers, ever so enamored with his own open mind?

Indeed, “Let them in,” O’Neill once admonished. Don’t “infantilise African migrants. … welcome them.”

Late to the party, as left-libertarians always are, O’Neill has discovered that immigration, too, is a state program, one used to subdue the host population. What do you know? Being on the left (in a manner)  means you never have to say you’re sorry.

UPDATE (7/9):

Michael Medved and David Rubin (the one neoconish; the other left-libertarian) were going back-and-forth on The Medved Show about immigration. At bottom, both are liberal apologists with a veneer of establishment conservatism. “Bring ’em out of the shadows, path to citizenship,” blah, blah.

Justin Trudeau Won’t Play Nice With Trump, But Is All Over Racist Cyril Ramaphosa

As he snubs President Trump and pretends he’s so superior to the American leader, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been fawning over the racist president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, who, in turn, is presiding over the confiscation of land from white South Africans, sans compensation.

The same can be said of the morally bankrupt British ruling class, aka Perfidious Albion. They’ve jailed the non-violent, free-speech, anti-Islamization activist Tommy Robinson, have snubbed and hounded others like him, and have turned their noses up at President Trump.

But the racist South African President, Ramaphosa, gets the full Monty from this obsequious, feckless lot. In April, Ramaphosa was one of the few of late to have been “invited for an audience with the Queen at Windsor Castle.”
