The Trump-In-Decline School Of Alternate Reality

Democrats, Media, Objectivism, Politics, Republicans

“Reports of Donald Trump’s demise are wildly exaggerated,” said one of the “astringent” minds with life tenure on the DC consultant and pundit circuit. Indeed, the school of thought that has consolidated like an aftershock after the tectonic shift in politics created by Donald Trump comprises the “adviser, strategist and candidate class” we know so well. They create their own reality and force their viewers or listeners to share their parallel universe.

Except that a LOT of Americans are having none-of it.

As was predicted in this space—and well before Monica Crowley awoke (today) to the reality of Trump (on Fox News’ Hannity)—many independents, Reagan Democrats and Southern Democrats are going to flock to Trump.

Likewise, refutations of rumors of the demise of Trump are meaningless, created among people whose intellectual output consists of wishful thinking designed to confirm a world-view friendly to power.

On the other hand, not once has a reliable, non-mainstream analyst outside this sheltered-employment clique ever suggested that Trump would peak, then crash, plateau, then decline or disappear.

DC is having a debate with itself.

As far as Trump is concerned, they can talk to the hand.

Democratic Debate lowlights from the latest bite-size tweet to the first:

UPDATE (10/4): These tweets got left out of my laborious, URL cut-and-paste from Twitter to Barely a Blog (we’re working on a plugin between the two cyber-places, for auto-propagation):

UPDATED: The Racebaiting Of Your Typical Republican & Democrat Regimists (Ana Navaro)

Democrats, Individualism Vs. Collectivism, Left-Liberalism And Progressivisim, Media, Race, Republicans

Let’s do some political pattern recognition. Over the week-end, Jeb Bush shill Ana Navaro contemptuously characterized the Democratic primary line up as “fifty Shades of white.” (This is a favorite turn of phrase for the CNN Republican gasbag.) Regimist Republicans are Democrats by any other name. Diversity enforcement and race-bating are their common-core principles, as well.

Too white is how Obama shill Van Jones (appearing opposite Michael Thornton on CNN, 8/10/015) wrote Joe Biden off: Biden was an old white man who could not possibly cater to the rising racial justice and economic equality wings of the Democrat Party. Black Lives Matter, DREAMERS, and other racial-inclusion folks will not settle for a Joe Biden. So said Jones.

For the retarded reader, as one Ed Willing on Facebook showed himself to be, the above observation is in the realm of analysis. It does not constitute support for Democrats. In the typical Republican’s universe, you don’t analyze; you engage in world-view affirmation. The same goes for Democrats.

UPDATED: Democrat by any other name Ana Navaro, former consultant to failed GOP candidates, has just lamented to Anderson Cooper that she wishes Republicans debated more like last night’s Democrats: with substance and collegiality. The Democratic craven cluelessness on capitalism is of no concern to this new, prototypical Republican, who thinks of Democrats as a lodestar to emulate.

UPDATE II: Methuselah And The Democratic Gang Cometh (Debate Ratings)

Democrats, Economy, Left-Liberalism And Progressivisim, Socialism

The tension is mounting (not), as two washed-out, walking cliches of the hard left (Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders), join two other political phantoms no one has heard of before (Martin O’Malley and Lincoln Chafee), to malign and bring down their betters—the “highly productive and provident one percent that provides the standard of living of a largely ignorant and ungrateful ninety-nine percent,” as Professor George Reisman calls the deservedly rich.

In attendance at Tuesday’s CNN Facebook Democratic Debate in Las Vegas will be one good guy: Jim Webb, who’ll probably be nudged to the left and will cease to be who he once was, to keep-up with the awfulness on stage.

I’ll be surprised if the Las Vegas Democratic Debate draws more than 4 million viewers.

Sheryl Crow will perform. She’s the singer known for applying her cerebral sinew, as is Hollywood’s wont, to solving global warming. Hint: It has to do with using your sleeve. Yes, she’s an indelicate creature.

UPDATE I: Wow, at the time of writing, the hashtag #CNNDemocraticDebate had … 3 tweets to its name. It could well be that the debate will draw only 2 viewers. (One of the #CNNDemocraticDebate tweets is mine.)

UPDATE II (10/12): Well, well, what do you know? I was right to bring up the ratings issue way back on 10.07.15, with respect to the forthcoming Democratic primary debate.

Mainstream media has awoken to the Real Story behind the Dem debate: No one but them cares about it. It also seems that my predictions of the number of viewers who’ll tune in to watch elderly has-beens dream up plans to rob Peter to pay Paul are not out of whack. See “CNN expects ‘significantly smaller’ ratings for Dem debate.”
