Fake News Fallacies And The Las Vegas Massacre

Days following the Oct 1 massacre of country music concertgoers in Las Vegas, a CNN ego in an anchor’s chair, her name is Brooke Baldwin, continued to push her guests to reconsider guns already regulated. Is this journalism or activism?

Ms. Baldwin had previously (and shamefully) tried to extract an anti-gun “change of heart” message from a female country music DJ she interviewed. The young woman reacted with class, refusing to wade into the mire with Ms. Baldwin. I suspect Baldwin will continue her asinine lack of discipline. Come to think of it, there are no disciples any longer, are there? Baldwin and her pals on the late-night shows are activists, not journalists. There was a reason the ancients created the disciplines.

Ms. Baldwin further shed credibility by asserting that the shooter used automatic rifles in the slaughter. Not that it makes the man less monstrous, but the shooter (whose name will live on in infamy) used semi-automatic rifles. The bump-fire modification used is a LEGAL modification. As a member of the GabFamily said, let media morons think the Vegas shooter used automatic rifles. Let the dumb Left re-ban automatic weapons.

Some credible individuals, such as U.S. Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Shaffer, insisted the gunman deliberately targeted country music concertgoers so as to kill Trump Supporters. Was Stephen Paddock targeting Deplorables? As Jack Kerwick has argued, this is one perfectly plausible theory of the crime.

Another fallacy echoed by Fake News: Mass shootings are the purview of white males. Don’t listen. Look at this lineup of ghouls:

 

Remembering The Best of America, Erik Scott, Killed By Cop

It is seven years today since Erik Scott was gunned down by three Las Vegas cops, for legally carrying concealed in Costco. What the criminals didn’t bargain for is that Erick’s father, Braveheart Bill Scott, would come after them. And he did.

This is an achingly beautiful tribute to Erik. Below is Bill’s social-media post:

Seven years ago today, my son, Erik, was gunned down by three Las Vegas cops. A super-sloppy cover-up and cop-clearing circus of an inquest ensured Erik’s killers were never held accountable.
However, that’s slowly changing. Justice is steadily unfolding in ways LV Metro police dept. and its corrupt allies never envisioned. For example, “The Permit”, a novel based on Erik’s murder has been read by thousands. And I have reason to believe a theatrical movie or TV mini-series based on the book will manifest fairly soon.

At 3:20 p.m. on July 20th, “What Happened in Vegas,” a superb documentary that features four murders-by-Metro, including Erik’s, is scheduled to show at the Anthem film festival in Las Vegas. This movie is an incredibly powerful indictment of what arguably is one of the most corrupt “justice” systems in America.

And a new nonfiction book I cowrote with two former police officers is in the publishing process. “License to Kill: The Murder of Erik Scott” is the truth that destroys LV Metro’s long string of lies and crimes. Stand by….

Congressmen and their staff were shot at “as they were practicing for tomorrow’s annual charity baseball game. Congressman Steve Scalise, a member of House leadership, was shot and badly wounded.” Which prompted President Trump to go into Democrat-appeasing moral relativism mode. Hear Trump:

We may have our differences, but we do well, in times like these, to remember that everyone who serves in our nation’s capital is here because, above all, they love our country.
We can all agree that we are blessed to be Americans, that our children deserve to grow up in a nation of safety and peace, and that we are strongest when we are unified and when we work together for the common good.

Or was this Ivanka the president was channeling? Moral clarity was needed. But any moral clarity displayed by the president during the campaign has evaporated, in favor of obsequious pandering. Not to mention breaking of promises: Libertarian Gabb Sean says that “Ever since Trumps was elected, it’s been a matter of what promises he’ll break this week.”

All in all, Democrats are running rings round Trump. If he doesn’t act, Democrats will take the House and Trump will be impeached.

On TV, Conservatives ponderously warned about the perils of “political violence,” all as their ranks are shot at and their spokespersons prevented from speaking. An alt-leftist tries to kill Republicans and this signals to the “stupid party” (M. Stanton Evans’ coinage for Republicans) that it’s time to suck-up to the “evil party” (Democrats). As we speak, the Antifa sick fucks have even stabbed a police horse.

After the Alexandria shooting, politicians consider armed security for THEMSELVES, but not a Wall or a Muslim moratorium for The People.

Bernie Sanders, Huffington Post and other alt-leftist outfits and detritus deny that violence is in their blood; that their brethren encouraged violence. Just the other day did Bernie Sanders roar in his sub-intelligent, foreboding manner that Christian doctrine has to be made to accept that the faithful can be saved through Mohammad, Jehovah, Buddha, etc. Force Christianity to be more inclusive?

Did you know that “more than 12,000 tweets have called for Trump’s assassination since the inauguration”?

The operative word in the Left’s worldview is “force.”

“Jihad’s Triumph On Westminster Bridge” is the current column, now on Townhall.com. An excerpt:

… The story of Khalid Masood is certainly festooned with the kind of studied failures you find in the tale of American homeboy Omar Mateen, who murdered 49 gay club-goers in Orlando, Florida, wounding 53 others. Mateen might have been a latent homosexual, but he was loud and proud about his orientation as an aspiring Muslim terrorist.

For his part, Masood was a violent criminal with many faces, in-and-out of the Islamized British prison system for inflicting “grievous bodily harm” on his countrymen. At every turn, Masood’s life of crime was met with soft responses. He slashes the face of a café owner in the village of Sussex but receives only two years in jail. A similar, but more severe, offense nets Masood, then Adrien Elms, a brief jail sentence for “the possession of an offensive weapon.”

A penal system that singles out for criminalization and punishment not the deadly assault and the intent behind it, but the possession of a weapon during the commission of said assault, is inviting escalation. (Oh, and once in jail, how about converting this kind of inmate to Christianity? That’s guaranteed to save lives in the future by giving inmates a higher purpose that precludes killing for rewards in the afterlife.)

So it was that Masood journeys from Sussex to Saudi Arabia, like any ordinary English lad would. (Is this now a rite of passage in Britain? BBC News’ correspondent Dominic Casciani seems to think so.) There, he can be found hard at work at the General Authority of Civil Aviation. (Yeah, right!) Then it’s back to East Sussex. With a nicely fattened, fraudulent CV, Masood goes to work for Aaron Chemicals, in Bodiam, a company which, as it appears, hired him despite his criminal record and predisposition to violence.

Speaking of corporate culture, how dangerously politically correct is it? How likely are corporations to put virtue-signaling and politically correct piety ahead of public and worker safety? You be the judge: British security firm G4S employed Omar Mateen, who was out of the closet about his Jihadi sympathies and aspirations. The Swiss security firm Securitas employed Dahir Adan, the Somali, Minnesota mall stabber. Out of all their St. Cloud applicants, Adan seemed like the best bet. …
