UPDATED: Continuum Of Propaganda: Yale, U Of Missouri & YOUR Child’s School

Constitution, Education, Founding Fathers, Government, Political Correctness, Political Philosophy, Propaganda, Religion

Parents with a traditionalist, conservative or libertarian mindset please pause to carefully consider the following: If your kids are in the country’s primary, secondary and tertiary educational gulag, however well they are doing, they are being brainwashed.

The specter of frightened white men, on the nation’s campuses, resigning in fear of a mob rising in rage against … hurtful words and gestures—all constitutionally protected speech—is an organic extension of the entire American educational ethos, down to YOUR child’s school. What these affluent kids are rioting for—to silence and purge dissent and dissidents—they were taught in varying degrees in secondary, even primary schools.

You cannot counter it by yourself; you’re too busy being productive, living a good life. Pedagogues rely on your life being too chaotic to familiarize yourself with, for instance, the politicized process of textbook and course material selection that ensures your child never ever comes away believing in the correctness of the philosophy that animated the republic’s Founding Fathers, or in the originalist intention of the US Constitution. (Don’t be gulled: Kids will learn about theories of constitutional interpretation. But they’ll also come away with the distinct belief that originalism is a quaint thing reserved for kooks.)

But in order to counter the Sovietized nature of the schooling system, a parent cannot be remiss—he must be aware of it, know he is powerless to counter its complex, systemic, enervating nature alone, and access suitable resources to supplement a child’s education.

For example: Homeschool Courses by historian Tom Woods. Or this writer’s economics and other columns, always richly sourced, to be found in the Articles Archive. (Friends of liberty, please write in, here and at Facebook, with your suggestions of scholarly material. I have opened this blog post for your Comment.)

Having a child in the public schools system comes with the responsibility to know your child is being programmed and to be prepared to deprogram or unshackle him.

Consider: The University of Missouri is one of the nation’s top-tier R1 institutions. Yale needs no introduction. There is nothing unique in Mizzou’s militant mob, now joined by Yale’s equally odious protests, as these losers unite against hurtful words and unpleasant ideas. The horrifying thing is that the histrionics at Yale are the winners of tomorrow; the people who’ll man (or woman) the human resources department of America’s companies, to enforce conformity.

Fact: Yale and Mizzou students are oblivious to the cherished American tenets of freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, freedom of religion; diversity of thought. Why? When Allan Bloom wrote the Closing of the American Mind: How Higher Education Has Failed Democracy and Impoverished the Souls of Today’s Students, in 1987, he addressed what he knew: the modern university.

But the rot didn’t happen there and it didn’t unfold overnight. The making of our mindless, philosophically and ethically bereft millennials happened over time.

The seeds of the bizarre contagion spreading across American campuses were sown in your kids’ schools.

UPDATE (11/14): Following the Paris attacks of 11/13, B. Hussein Obama blah-blahed about America’s flaccid affinity for liberty, equality, fraternity, the French national motto. Thanks to our public school system, your kids are none-the-wiser about the fact that America’s founding principles of life, liberty and property are the philosophical opposite of the French Revolution.

Did not the Jacobins eliminate, butcher, massacre the clergy class, to name but one kinda significant difference? Our Founders revered institutions of faith and their role in a self-governing, moral society

Fact Check: ‘Knee-Pad’ Media Never Vetted Obama; Oprah Winfrey Did

Barack Obama, Journalism, Media, Religion

Barack Hussein Obama was launched by the Queen of Kitsch, day-time talker Oprah Winfrey. Once introduced to America by Oprah, no one on the left inquired into his sorry record as a human being.

The “Knee-pad media” hollered RAAAAAACISM and never stopped, when conservative media tried for years to probe the enormity of Barack Hussein Obama’s sealed academic records, poor teaching record as a lecturer, non existent scholarly publications while still serving as editor of a top law journal; his deep allegiance to a crooked pastor, his meager charitable contributions (until he started running for office), or Hussein’s wife’s nepotistically obtained, richly rewarding bureaucratic hospital job.

The same media are currently beating up on a man with merit-based accomplishments in a world outside politics—Ben Carson—for possible linguistic establishments.

Moron Media say Ben Carson lied about once being a thug and transforming himself; he was always as sweet as he is now.

The same malpracticing media believe Carson deceived their asses, as a brother would say, over having had a scholarship to West Point, when in fact the offer of a scholarship was “informal.”

One thing the moron media dare not get away with is to claim their lazy, corrupt asses vetted President Barack Obama.

About Pope Francis, The Lady Di of The Papacy

Celebrity, Christianity, Federalism, Founding Fathers, Government, Islam, Reason, Religion

“About Pope Francis” is the current column, now on the Unz Review, America’s smartest webzine. An excerpt:

In the wake of America’s week-long, Pope Francis bacchanalia, a few column titles suggest themselves:

“Benedict, What Have You Wrought?”

“The Global Village Idiot.”

“Lady Di of The Papacy.”

The last hints at the trendy, pop-philosophies that animate Pope Francis’ Lady Di-like belief system. The intellectual equivalent of these papal shopworn shibboleths you’ll find in a Chinese, fortune-cookie wrapper.

Ultimately, the editor will decide which of these unflattering headings best describes the man whom one devout Catholic—libertarian jurist Andrew Napolitano—called a false prophet for overturning Catholic canon law without consulting his Bishops. Yet another reason Pope Francis is drawn to an authoritarian president who rules by presidential veto.

Intellectually, Pope Francis is no match for his predecessors.

With his 1998 encyclical, the Polish pope—how the Polish people suffered under the communists whose creed Pope Francis is inadvertently dignifying—sounded a lone voice for both “Faith and Reason” in the postmodern religious wilderness.

Who other than Pope John Paul spoke with such unhectoring clarity about the errors of relativism in modern thought? Certainly not Jorge Bergolio, who is too simple to consider such abstractions.

The anti-intellectualism evinced in the Holy See’s 2015 environmental encyclical made this pope’s “close advisers,” in all their “ill-tempered diction,” the butt of ridicule over the pages of the Catholic Crisis magazine:

From the empirical side, to prevent the disdain of more informed scientists generations from now, papal teaching must be safeguarded from attempts to exploit it as an endorsement of one hypothesis over another concerning anthropogenic causes of climate change. It is not incumbent upon a Catholic to believe, like Rex Mottram in “Brideshead Revisited,” that a pope can perfectly predict the weather. …

In the same badly written potboiler, the pope took a swipe at the richest nations, blaming them for despoiling the earth. In truth, however, the developed world has advanced the technologies (and attendant ethics) that are helping to clean up the atmosphere, the waterways, the oceans and many a landmass. It is the developing and underdeveloped nations—China and India, for one—that despoil the earth and devastate its creatures. So polluted are the waterways in former communist countries that rivers are known to catch fire. Watch.

The Left Beatifies Boehner, Perhaps Pope Francis Will, Too

Left-Liberalism And Progressivisim, Politics, Religion, Republicans, The State

His tenure as the speaker of the House John Boehner (Republican) spent greasing the skids for the policies of Barack Obama (Democrat). And he capped a career of crying by sobbing to the sounds of Pope Francis’s trendy, pop philosophies (the intellectual equivalent is to be found in a Chinese fortune-cookie wrapper).

But to listen to the Left’s coverage of Boehner’s resignation—MSNBC and CNN—the man was a saint thwarted by right-wing crazies.

Before he leaves the country, the sooner the better, Pope Francis might want to beatify Boehner for promoting statism and crying while he, the pope, preached the same.

Boehner will likely head off to K Street to lobby and loot some more.

Pukes both.

By the way, aren’t you sick and tired of the, “I’m a poor boy, the son of an Ohio barkeeper” (Boehner), or a “Cuban immigrant,” or the first kid in family to go to school (Huckabee)?

Shut the f-ck up already with the sob-cum-inspirational stories.

For all your papal needs:
