Israel seems to have a better class of illegal African migrant, soon to be deported, than America’s. On the news I heard a few of them speak fluent Hebrew. Hebrew is no easy language to learn. You have to be committed to your new destination to teach yourself this tough language. Impressive.

On the other hand, America’s Third World immigrants, for whom the welcome mat is always unfurled, seldom learn the language well.  They also behave arrogantly, demandingly and in a way that makes normal folks hate them, not sympathize with their plight.

My theory: Setting standards for citizenship, being tough on law and order and making it brutal for interlopers to remain in your country uninvited creates a more dedicated, genial and patriotic immigrant. Someone who wants to please, to belong.

The sign below warns against littering. On our Washington-State trails, we beg the masses of migrants traipsing through to “please smile” and “share the trail with others, critters too.” We dare not lay down our rules.

Americans are liberal pussies; they beg trespassers to look upon them kindly. Israeli authorities appear to tell trespassers how to behave, unless they want to be tossed out.

Did you know that “the American government approved plans last year to provide lethal defensive weapons to Ukraine, a move … President Barack Obama had resisted.”

Well, now you know.

The next stage in goading the Russian Bear consisted in American-funded NGO political-action groups—many of them backed by George Soros—flooding Russia proper. (“Purple” in Iraq, Blue in Kuwait, Cotton in Uzbekistan, Grape in Moldova, “Orange” in the Ukraine, “Rose” in Georgia, “Tulip” in Kyrgizstan, “Cedar” in Lebanon, Jasmine in Tunisia, Green in Iran, still un-christened in Russia and Syria: Dig around and you’ll find American activists à la Alinsky behind these “color-coded,” plant-based revolutions, blessed and backed by Foggy Bottom.)

“A US-NATO military outpost in Georgia and missile-defense installations near Russia” completed the provocation. “Whether this longstanding Washington-Brussels policy is wise or reckless, it is … deceitful,” inveighed scholar of Russian history Stephen Cohen.

Back in February of 2014, I also predicted “a second Cold War between the US and Russia …”

The ignoramuses of the Beltway are still flouting America’s national interests and squandering Russian goodwill…

Jennifer Rubin Is A Rubbishy Writer

This New York Review of Books reviewer suggests that the tedious neoconservative, Jennifer Rubin, made prominent for her banality, is reminiscent of the late Molly Ivins, who was an old-school, acerbic, liberal columnist.

Rubbish.

Ivins coined memorable monikers for George Bush such as “Shrub” and “Dubya.”

Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol was a neoconservative writer, organizer, and theorist for a quarter-century, at the barricades on controversies from health care reform to the Iraq War (he was also the most important promoter of Sarah Palin, who embodied Trumpism before Trump became Trump). Now he regularly issues withering tweets about Trump and is a fixture on the liberal-leaning MSNBC. The foreign policy writer Max Boot was a vocal and at times strident champion of the Bush Doctrine. These days he’s a ferocious and shrewd critic of the president. Washington Post blogger-columnist Jennifer Rubin was, among prominent conservative pundits, probably Mitt Romney’s most aggressive defender in 2012 and aside from that was known for her hard-line foreign policy views, particularly on matters relating to Israel. Now, her columns often read as if they could have been written by the late Molly Ivins. (Two recent Rubin headlines: “Trump Retreats on Iran, and He Will Need to Do So Again”; “The Enablers of the Racist President Are Back at It.”)

David Frum is also a much better writer than Israel Firster, Ms. Rubin.

UPDATED (2/4/018): It’s Been A While Since Foreign Policy Has Been So Perilous On So Many Fronts

Scanning the front page of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity should make all sane people gloomy. The neoconservatives are in charge and no one is the wiser. Certainly in foreign policy, there has been a speedy reversion to the neoconservative mean.

A smattering of headlines:

* “Mattis Threatens Military Action Over Syria Gas Attack Claims, Then Admits ‘No Evidence‘”

Doesn’t look like President Trump has surrounded himself with the best people to optimize his original America First promise. Neoconservatives are indisputably the worst.
