Higher Education Is A Hard Row To Ho

Education, Family, Left-Liberalism And Progressivisim, Military, Morality, Relatives, Religion, Sex, War

“Higher Education Is A Hard Row To Ho” is the current column, now on WND. An excerpt:

Who’s the bigger prostitute? Sex kitten “Belle Knox,” alias Miriam Weeks, a promising porn star who is studying at Duke University, or her father, Dr. Kevin Weeks, an army doctor who recently returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan?

“I would support porn over the adventures for the Empire, anytime” is the verdict of libertarian Robert Wenzel, editor at Economic Policy Journal.

Indeed, daddy’s girl is an open book. We know what the 18-year-old does and that she does it for the love of it.

But what does papa Weeks do? Here’s an attempt to sum up his vocation in this season of rhyming against the regime:

Humpty Dumpty was sent to war
Where Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the king’s horses and all king Hussein’s men
Asked Dr. Weeks to put Humpty Dumpty together again
And again. And again.

Papa Weeks is in the business of patching up the peons, so as to send them back to the killing fields where they fight for nothing.

At times, the “talents” of GI Joe and GI Ho come together in the theater of war—the Abu Ghraib porn theater starred some sadistic and slutty servicemen and women. However, the pornography of Miriam Weeks is soft core compared to the X-rated pornography of war, in which Dr. Weeks partakes. Furthermore, selling sex for money, in private or to audiences, is voluntary, consensual and violates no rights.

As corrupt as Miriam’s morals are, better to have been a ho for sale than a mercenary for Uncle Sam. …

With Some Exceptions, ‘Women Are Fascists At Heart’

Education, Fascism, Feminism, Gender, Socialism

One only has to trace the statistically significant correlation between women’s suffrage and the change in the size and scope of the state, as did John R. Lott, Jr. (Yale University) and Lawrence W. Kenny (University of Florida), to know that Vox Day’s assertion (“women are fascists at heart”) is unassailable.

With few exceptions, “Women are, and have always been, intrinsically fascist,” writes my much-missed, WND colleague. When Vox is right he’s right. From academia to the IRS and the EPA—dig a little and you’ll find distaff America behind the illiberal, oppressive direction society is taking.

Viva Vox:

This open argument in favor of abandoning the Doctrine of Academic Freedom in favor of a Doctrine of Academic Justice is an excellent example of why women were not allowed into the universities in the first place. This is why they were not permitted to vote. We ignore the great minds of the past at our peril, and we have no right to complain about having to suffer the obvious consequences of entirely predictable actions

With a small minority of exceptions, they hate freedom and will always trade it for the promise of security, physical and emotional. The Fascists understood this. The medieval philosophers understood this. The Founding Fathers understood this. The West rejected the idea in favor of sexual equality and the myth of progress, and now the university has abandoned its centuries-old tradition of academic freedom.

Yes, there are exceptions. Yes, not all women are the same. Yes, there are brilliant and sensible women. But the salient point is that the price of female involvement is reliably too high across the board. How much more destruction can Western Civilization be expected to survive before women of sense are willing to admit that the price of female participation in matters of governance is too great? Do we really need to undergo the Great Collapse before the ancient truths can be accepted once more?

“The lesson, as always, is this: women ruin everything.”

Doughball DREAMS Of The White House

Education, Ethics, IMMIGRATION, Politics

“Members of the legislature elected by their constituents … have an obligation to sit in a room around the table and advance the interests of the people who gave them these jobs in the first place.” According to Chris Christie, New Jersey’s popular Republican governor, this obligation entails passing “his state’s so-called DREAM Act.”

The bill grants in-state college tuition rates to undocumented high school graduates who attended a New Jersey high school for at least three years. …
… “Our job, I believe, as a government, is to give every one of these children who we have already invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in, an opportunity to maximize the investment for their benefit, for the benefit of their families, for the benefit of our state and the country,” Christie said.

Who exactly are these “constituents” whom Christie represent with such zeal? Christie “won re-election by capturing a majority of Hispanic voters.”

It should surprise nobody to learn that, “Christie opposed the [DREAM ACT] legislation until last year on the grounds that the state could not afford the tuition breaks, but he changed his position at the height of his re-election campaign, saying that the state’s economic outlook had improved.”

‘Into The Cannibal’s Pot’ In University Libraries

Education, English, Ilana Mercer, Political Correctness, South-Africa

It transpires that intellectually curious and honest academics are having some luck in their efforts to increase the chances of students being exposed to solid facts and serious analysis pertaining to South Africa.
A very nice professional who wishes to remain anonymous—he works behind enemy lines in academia—has been kind enough to forward me a list of “the [university] libraries that have [“Into the Cannibal’s Pot: Lessons for America from Post-Apartheid South Africa”] and have reported that they have it to WorldCat.” The gentleman informs me that, “Most books are purchased via standing orders for major publishers, or approval plans, so books not acquired in that way get bought when someone, usually a faculty member, requests that they be purchased.”
You know what this means? Academics can place orders for the book and thus increase the chances that students are not bamboozled by idiots (such as my co-panelist on the Cross-Talk TV show).

Let me know how it goes. I’ll be sure to mention any successful outcomes.
