Mad-As-A-Hatter Media Discovers Zimmerman Is … ‘Multiracial’

Left-Liberalism And Progressivisim, Media, Multiculturalism, Political Correctness, Race

How do you react to “breaking news” such as was presented by the insufferably pompous Piers Morgan of CNN: “… we [now. suddenly] see that George Zimmerman really has significant multiracial, multicultural roots.” (Emphasis added.)

What miracle aid brought about this incisive observation? How was this hopeless lot helped in arriving at the conclusion that the manifestly swarthy Mr. Zimmerman, who looks as if he has Mestizo-Amerindian heritage, is indeed of mixed heritage?

What did the trick was “an exclusive photograph,” which shows Zimmerman’s great-grandfather (a black gentleman), above whom stands Zimmerman’s grandmother (half black), holding Zimmerman’s mother.

“Talking to people that know him, I have changed my position,” revealed CNN super sleuth Mark NeJame. “People can come up with whatever conclusions they want. But from looking at the facts and the evidence, I don’t think there is a racial motive in there.”

On March 30, the article “@Twitter, Trayvon Was ‘NO_LIMIT_NIGA'” stated the facts as sane people saw them:

Martin was a 17-year-old black youth, shot dead last month by a Hispanic man with a Jewish surname. George Zimmerman—who, for the purposes of the “Racism Industrial Complex” is being considered white—was patrolling a Florida gated community, as part of his neighborhood-watch duties.

Cleaving to reality is all it takes. The cretins of cable should try it.

Americans Abroad ‘Banking Under the Mattress’

Media, Regulation, Taxation, The State

Is Big Media catching up with guerrilla writers? In “Planet IRS,” just over two weeks ago, I wrote that “[d]ue to the onerous burdens imposed by the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, foreign banks, as well as hedge and private equity funds are closing American accounts. Barack Obama’s legislative baby (signed on March 18, 2010) is driving Americans abroad into banking under the mattress.

Today Bloomberg caught up, in “U.S. Millionaires Told Go Away as Tax Evasion Rule Looms.”:

Go away, American millionaires.
That’s what some of the world’s largest wealth-management firms are saying ahead of Washington’s implementation of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, known as Fatca, which seeks to prevent tax evasion by Americans with offshore accounts. HSBC Holdings Plc (HSBA), Deutsche Bank AG, Bank of Singapore Ltd. and DBS Group Holdings Ltd. (DBS) all say they have turned away business.
“I don’t open U.S. accounts, period,” said Su Shan Tan, head of private banking at Singapore-based DBS, Southeast Asia’s largest lender, who described regulatory attitudes toward U.S. clients as “Draconian.”

Oh dear. We’re usually years ahead of mainstream (as in this September 19, 2002, article).

Where’s The Evidence?

Homeland Security, Media, Middle East, Terrorism

A plot to bomb an airliner was recently broken up. So America’s reporters all tell us.

Unanswered are some of the questions—without which there is no legitimate news story—that every journalistic lead should address: Who? Where? What? How?

It is apparent, however, that we don’t need to know who planned a “plot to bomb an airliner.” We don’t need to know where the “plot” was hatched, or what explosive device was seized, and how.

All we need to concern our big fat heads with is that “U.S. and other intelligence agencies” vouched for the information. Also fool-proof is that “U.S. Rep. Peter King, Republican and chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee,” would never lie to us. Nor would ““a senior administration official.”

CNN’s Alpha Female Anderson Cooper: Now he always keeps them honest, doesn’t he?! The eternally furrowed brow alone speaks to Cooper’s journalistic bona fides. That guy would know entrapment if he encountered it.

Besides, don’t be such a drag. The guilty party, Fahd al Quso, is already dead of a drone attack. That’s your proof right there. You know someone is culpable of terrorism when and if he dies by drone. Dah.

On my own uneventful airport experience last week, I was spared the rogering (WND editor Ron Strom recommended loose clothing. Maybe it worked). But I did see a tall, fit, good looking black TSA worker, working-over a little old man (80, perhaps). It looked like the agent was removing the hunched geriatric’s colostomy bag. It took him forever.

You never know…

UPDATED: Now Hardhats Are Heroes (8 Years On)

America, China, Media, Technology

They’ve erected only an “unfinished skeleton” of the “One World Trade Center,” 11 years after the twin towers were destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001.” Even FoxNews concedes that the “milestone is a preliminary one.”

And we are not told how long this thing took to build.

Still, there’s an enormous fuss already. Everyone involved is being hailed as a hero. (No doubt, interviews are being lined-up, and current-events programs are dispatching their equivalent of Diane Sawyer to solicit a tear fest.)

About the original structure, Myron Pauli, our unorthodox pal and BAB contributor, wrote:

Call me jaded or unsentimental” … “but the World Trade Towers were ugly Rockefeller buildings built by the abuse of eminent domain [my friend’s dad lost his job at a private firm there], and taxpayer theft and operated at a great loss to the taxpayers. They were known mainly for a dreadful remake of King Kong. While I mourn the loss of 3000 Americans, I am not about to elevate the Towers into the Beit Hamikdash (The Temple in Jerusalem).

Meantime, with no fuss at all, “200 workers constructed a 30-story building in China’s Hunan Province in a little more than two weeks.” The industrious man behind this project says his insta-skyscraper will “withstand a 9.0-magnitude earthquake,” and is built to the “highest environmental standards.”

Gives one a perspective …

UPDATED: It took 8 years to build the thing. Heard it from Lou Dobbs’ mouth.
