UPDATED: Steve Jobs Was With Liberty

Barack Obama, Business, Capitalism, Celebrity, Economy, Intelligence, Technology, The State

As is to be expected with so private and guarded a person, the curtain on Steve Jobs’ inner life is being pulled back slowly, but surely. In the process, Jobs’ natural affinity for freedom is being revealed. The man who gave us Apple Inc. was obviously too smart to misunderstand the essence of liberty and how at odds BHO is with it. Jobs was on to the idiot Obama (and to racist and statist Bill Gates). Reports the HuffPo:

“Jobs, who was known for his prickly, stubborn personality, almost missed meeting President Obama in the fall of 2010 because he insisted that the president personally ask him for a meeting. Though his wife told him that Obama ‘was really psyched to meet with you,’ Jobs insisted on the personal invitation, and the standoff lasted for five days. When he finally relented and they met at the Westin San Francisco Airport, Jobs was characteristically blunt. He seemed to have transformed from a liberal into a conservative.

‘You’re headed for a one-term presidency,’ he told Obama at the start of their meeting, insisting that the administration needed to be more business-friendly. As an example, Jobs described the ease with which companies can build factories in China compared to the United States, where ‘regulations and unnecessary costs’ make it difficult for them.

Jobs also criticized America’s education system, saying it was ‘crippled by union work rules,’ noted Isaacson. ‘Until the teachers’ unions were broken, there was almost no hope for education reform.’ Jobs proposed allowing principals to hire and fire teachers based on merit, that schools stay open until 6 p.m. and that they be open 11 months a year.”

Jobs’ spot-on assessment of Bill Gates has to be my favorite revelation:

“Bill is basically unimaginative and has never invented anything, which is why I think he’s more comfortable now in philanthropy than technology. He just shamelessly ripped off other people’s ideas.”

So true.

UPDATE (1/3/2016): Alex Gibney, at CNN, trashes Steve Jobs, posthumously, in a one-sided, banal, “Why Can’t He Be More Like Bill Gates” bit of yellow journalism.

UPDATED: Rick Gets Rabid; Ron Paul Endures

Economy, Elections, Political Philosophy, Politics, Private Property, Ron Paul, Taxation

The following is from my new WND.COM, “Rick Gets Rabid; Ron Paul Endures”:

“CNN must be desperate for the ratings the network receives whenever it hosts a Republican presidential debate. As moderator of the Tea Party Debate in Tampa, Florida, last month, Wolf Blitzer worked it. And not once did leftist activist-cum-anchor Anderson Cooper mention bullying in Las Vegas, Tuesday night: Viewers of the Western Republican Debate got off lightly. The excuse for a newsman known as Anderson Cooper did only one stupid thing: Demonstrate to the seven presidential contenders how to introduce themselves.

CNN was on its best behavior, which is more than one can say about Governor Rick Perry (R-TX). He sounds a lot like a slightly less stupid ‘W,’ which is still plenty stupid (and cunning to boot). The man is so much like The Decider in demeanor that it’s unsettling.

In bashing Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 tax-reform plan, Perry persistently called Cain ‘brother’ (‘I love you, brother, but…’). This phony, patronizing touch was plainly insulting.

For colorful metaphors that capture the tapped arteries of taxation in the Cain plan—destined to balloon with the lifeblood of the taxpayer—it’s hard to beat Grover Norquist. The president of Americans for Tax Reform likened 9-9-9 to putting ‘tapeworms in your tummy to try and maintain your weight.’ And to ‘having three needles in your arm drawing blood instead of one.'” …

UPDATED: American-Mediated Lynching In Libya (Cackling Hildebeest)

America, Democracy, Foreign Policy, Islam, Just War, Justice, Middle East

Backed by American and French (NATO) sorties up above, our buddies the rebels, bless them, apprehended the former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. With barbaric, blood-curdling harangues of “Allahu Akbar,” the revolutionaries proceed to lynch him on camera. Sophisticated enough to film their “justice,” these animals are sufficiently in touch with their atavistic selves to tear to pieces a helpless individual. Secular democracy rising.

Invigorated by killing a 16-year old boy (Abdel-Rahman Anwar al-Awlaki) because related to an American the president had ordered assassinated (Anwar al-Awlaki), without due process, Obama, a worthy disciple of Bush the Barbarian, is celebrating the murder: “You’ve won your revolution,” obama tells Libya.

Once again, the US has supervised and given imprimatur to a French-Revolution like upheaval in a Muslim country.

Below is footage of what we’ve become and who we befriend:

Here are stories that flesh out the gory details from Al Jazeera, the MailOnline, and the AP.

UPDATE: THE CACKLING HILDEBEEST. Even the pro-Bush Allahpundit of “Hot Air” recoils at Hillary Clinton’s “We came, we saw, he died,” vis-a-vis Gaddafi’s death. (Although Bush’s barbarians did plenty laughing and looting. I believe Bush took Saddam’s sword, but Google seems to have wiped all evidence of the Shrub’s crime. Looting goes against Just War doctrine, not that Bush prosecuted a just war.) http://hotair.com/archives/2011/10/20/hillary-on-qaddafi-we-came-we-saw-he-died/
