I questioned the Nazi designation attached to the Azov Brigade, suggesting that, if Azov are not engaged in palpable acts of violence against the traditional Nazi victims and other ethnics, and are merely a military battalion fighting in the Russia-Ukraine military arena—then the Nazi insignia and paraphernalia are irrelevant. These symbols then fall into the category of ritual, impolite speech, thought crimes, the kind the Left is always criminalizing the Right for. Regarding the “Take ’em out of the gene pool” aspect of abortion: I’ve long commented that the incontrovertibly demented progressives should be encouraged to scrape out their wombs. Or, at least, left to their own devices, however sad. As have I mentioned two economists, John J. Donohue III and Steven D. Levitt, who’ve shown abortion to reduce crime in a statistically significant way, because of the cohort that has abortion.
BUT Ed Dutton’s round-up of this and other arguments is magnificent–and mind-shifting. For one thing, it’s like watching a machine gun fire — so easy to follow because not a word or a thought is superfluous. For another, one can humbly say that, no, I have not considered all these arguments. It’s not that one must necessarily agree—I am not a biological reductionist—but this is the meaning of genius. It makes one think:
We conservative and conservative libertarians are civilized souls. This means that we are at heart “free-speech absolutists.” In the words of Elon Musk, “For Twitter to deserve public trust, it must be politically neutral, which effectively means upsetting the far right and the far left equally.”
This paleolibertarian longs for the return of what shall be dubbed here the Skokie Standard. “In 1978, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) ‘took a controversial stand for free speech by defending a neo-Nazi group that wanted to march through the Chicago suburb of Skokie, where many Holocaust survivors lived.” (From “Was The Cop’s Knee On George Floyd’s Neck ‘Racism’? No!“)
In response to a similar sentiment from Musk, I tweeted, “100%.” And, “The point is, get a libertarian free-speech backbone. If the Left posts about killing fetuses, DEAL with it. If the Right posts about the Bell Curve; DEAL! If Holocaust deniers deny the Holocaust: DEAL. If Green Energy hates on your SUV: DEAL.”
A reader was less exhilarated, correctly locating the source of the tyrannical meltdown with the Left. So as to never forget who we—with our civilized code of ethics and classically liberal ideals—are dealing with, read this, a collation of the idiot enemy’s litany of dangerous hate in the enemy’s own words:
The point being—gleaned from their own words—the frothing, fulminating demented deranged Left aims to destroy #Musk. They will destroy us. They will never allow us our speech, our thoughts, and, increasingly, our livelihoods. They want to “vanish” (sic) us.
There can be no peaceful coexistence with these duplicitous devils. Indeed, the only response to those who accuse me, you, of racism, with a view to sweeping us away because we don’t think like they do or do as they do, is Andrew Breitbart’s response, “FUCK YOU. WAR.”
With Andrew Breitbart it was biblical.
God bless Andrew Breitbart. May he continue to rage, rage from the grave.
Andrew Breitbart’s Call To Arms is now ours. READ. WATCH. GRASP. PREPARE.
‘We have a bill that’ll go after domestic terrorism, and that’s probably a good thing.’—Thomas Massie, Republican from Kentucky
Rep. Thomas Massie has found his voice on the still-extant Covid tyranny. Like all things Republican, it’s better than nothing, but nothing much at all.
The Kentucky Congressman … called for an amendment to be included in H.R. 350, a domestic terrorism bill, that would prevent the government from using funds to “monitor, analyze, investigate or prosecute” an American citizen on the bases of their refusal or opposition to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
“The fact that moms are going to be targeted as domestic terrorists because they think their 5-year-old doesn’t need a freaking vaccine because they’ve looked at the data. They’ve seen that the flu presents more of a risk to their child than COVID does — any of the variants,” said Congressman Massie.
While the “Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act” did not initially include language regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, Massie is forcing the issue to add text that provides protections to parents who oppose vaccine mandates.
Such dissembling as that of Representative Massie is deceptive. For one, he is right. Covid-19 has no place in a bill on domestic terrorism. But neither does a Bill against domestic terrorism have a place in the repertoire of a Republican legislator who considers himself hip to the infringements on liberty that such State overreach portends. Yet Massie declared,
… More bureaucracy to go after domestic terrorism is probably a good thing.
Moreover, self-ownership such as that exercised by sovereign individuals, in a free country, means that each and everyone of us has the right to reject the Pharma-State’s hemlock, no matter the reasons, scientific or not. The right to refuse the jab is not reserved for moms and their toddlers, for whom Massie exclusively advocates. What a dumb argument.
RIP, GOP.
Nowhere is a rights-based argument being made [by Republicans], or an argument based on the right to question the safety of the vaccine. Nowhere are individual sovereignty and self-ownership mentioned.
Indeed, Republicans prattle about religious exemptions (state granted!) and natural-immunity based exemptions (state granted!)—but they have not the faintest urge to defend the natural, God-given right of self-ownership.
Enough then of the cheering for the ineffectual GOP and its front men and women, who arrive in the Idiocracy’s version of Rome, only to do nothing, decade after decade. Oh, yes, they turn in appearances on TV and before congressional committees; get lucrative book deals, and consolidate political and corporate power for a lifetime.
But as the West careens toward the Covid-centered anthill society, nobody identifies and defends the individual’s dominion over his body and his right to reject the Pharma-State’s Hemlock prescription for that body. As emphasized, Republicans’ case against Covid mandates indirectly capitulates to coercion.
