Jeannie And Jared Kushner Always Part Of The Presidential Package (And On Taste)

Aesthetics, America, Celebrity, Critique, Donald Trump, Elections, Family, Government

TOLD YOU SO. In “Ron DeSantis Delivers First Principles In Action,” my latest column, as well as in the podcast preceding it, I told you that,

“A vote for Trump in 2024 is a vote for the Jarvanka organism, or familial mutations of it. The family will be back in the People’s House, minus the MAGA agenda.”

We learn that “Trump [is] trying to convince Ivanka and Jared to join his 2024 announcement, report says.”

He’s running.

“In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” Trump, 76, told supporters in a gilded ballroom at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

It so happens that the mercenary Jeannie and Jared Kushner have no use for The Don any longer. However, we heard that the first time around. Just before Jarvanka moved into the White House, we had been promised that the Trump kids would be staying out of politics and  running the business. My point being that the two will always be part of the deal; part of Donald Trump’s presidential vaudeville.

“Jeannie,” of course, is an allusion to a costume in a sitcom—one that a grown woman not featured in a play-play comedy, should not wear near a wedding. Seemed obvious to me.

A WORD ABOUT TASTE. Taste is class. Taste is the hallmark of culture, of refinement. To some degree, taste is subjective, but not entirely so. There are certain elements of style that are absolutely universal. The gilded Trump abode and the Trump weddings are gaudy nouveau riche in the extreme.

All that pale, sequinned, baby-doll Lolita pastels, coupled with garish over-painted faces, border on Liberace levels of tastelessness.

Kitsch:

Kitsch a la Kimberly Guilfoyle (with a touch of crazy):

If you want to know how to dress to perfection, look to Kate Middleton’s couture. Pricey for sure. Kate’s classic, classy high-couture. MORE:

WATCH: Trump Trashes A Triumphant DeSantis – Gloves Coming Off; Climate Conference in Egypt; The Heat is On

America, Democrats, Donald Trump, Elections, Environmentalism & Animal Rights, Etiquette, Government, John McCain, Pseudoscience, Psychiatry, Republicans

IN OUR LATEST HARD TRUTH PODCAST, recorded at noon on election day, David and myself debate Donald Trump’s public attack on Ron DeSantis on the eve of the Midterm elections. I argue De Santis is a formidable figure for the 2024 Presidential race with the uncanny, practical ability to govern pragmatically in accordance with constitutional, first principles.

David argues that Trump is a formidable figure and that GOP voters could end up with a Trump/DeSantis joint ticket in 2024 and that would be the best of all worlds.

Turning to the great Climate con – COP 27 – hosted this year in Egypt, David expresses his frustration at the latest UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak suggesting that events in Ukraine demonstrated the need to accelerate the rush to decarbonising our economies and hence returning us to the dark ages. Ilana points out that our current hydrocarbon energy sources are not only incredibly efficient but environmentally pristine and are the foundation for both global prosperity and environmental husbandry.

The Hard Truth podcast with David Vance and myself discusses DeSantis’ unique gifts vs. Trump’s.

The Illiterati Strikes: Stupid, Slothful And Nasty

America, Culture, Education, English, Etiquette, Ilana Mercer, Intelligence

The letters-to-the-editor came quick and steady. Some were repulsively nasty. None of the authors could read, reason or write. All had the attention span and concentration powers of a gnat (with apologies to the gnat community).

For some reason, the image conjured by the bare-fanged fury of one letter writer is of Lisa Simpson, transformed into a mountain of immobile, doughy flesh, in “Mama’s Watching Her Stories.

Unable to read or comprehend a paragraph, the writer, Annemarie, launched into a sneering screed:

If you haven’t yet realized your egregious error—if only one is present—William is the elder grandson of Elizabeth, married to Kate, who together have three children. Harry is married to Megan Markel and they have two children. I couldn’t even finish your commentary as I began questioning other statements you made as I read. Sorry Ileana, but your credibility is shot with me: in my estimation you now rank right up there (or should I say ‘down there’)with the rest of the “woke” media—you have list all credibility with me. I am extremely disappointed that the editors at WND allowed this column to get into print because your dismal transposition reflected badly on them as well.

My reply about the words (in “Bar Meghan Markle From The Great Lady’s Funeral“), which the dolt was unable to read and comprehend:

It’s sad that you’d rather shoot your mouth off nastily, believing you are being clever, than read with care.

Here is the correct excerpt, without your imagined contortions. You appear unable to deal with, 1. A long sentence. 2. An em-dash in the middle of it. 3. Capital “B”.

Omit the em-dash— it’s like a clause—and you’ll get the “correct answer.”

Next time, read, and re-read before dashing off a hateful note to someone who toils thankless for liberty with her capable WND editor. I’ve separated the paragraph into sentences to make it easier for you.

William worked as an RAF search and rescue helicopter pilot.

Before marrying that dolt from TinseltownMeghan Markle, who imagined she was a match for the queen of England—young Prince Harry had served in Afghanistan, and wore his Afghanistan Campaign medals on his brother’s wedding day. …

To my surprise, there were more such letters.

And, Boobus Americanus is headed for the voting booths.

An aphorism from one of Oscar Wilde’s plays came to mind. I paraphrase: “She thought that because he was stupid he’d be kindly, when kindliness requires imagination and intelligence.”

Stupid is usually mean.

UPDATED (8/25): Remember: The UniParty Equals Treason, Always

America, Conservatism, Democracy, Democrats, Elections, IMMIGRATION, Inflation, Law, Republicans, Taxation

There is only one single political verity you need to bear in mind, as the TV bobble-heads speak at you about the worthy Republican electoral sweep ahead: The UniParty, and those who carry water for it, equals treason, always.

All you need to know about the depredations on the open, southern border, about inflation, and the scandal of armed IRS agents who, in addition to fleecing you without flinching, are now ready to fire on you, is this:

Fox News is dissembling about the change that is a-coming. Even if the GOP sweeps both chambers and nets the presidency, as it did in 2016, nothing much will change.

The $220 trillion (plus) in unfunded liabilities created under both Democrats and Republicans cannot be reversed. Too huge. The tipping point has been reached vis-a-vis spending and inflation. Besides, and

“Contrary to popular myth,” demurs James Ostrowski, “every Republican president since and including Herbert Hoover has increased the federal government’s size, scope or power—and usually all three. Include regulations and foreign policy, as well as budgets approved by a Republican Congress, and a picture begins to emerge of the Republican Party as a reliable engine of government growth.”

As to promises to “close the border’: Once illegals present at the border—they are never turned back, but are processed and released, a reality that is the legal creation of the UniParty. You can argue all you wish that immigration law does not sanction what’s occurring on the South-Western border, but it is a fact that the Republicans have allowed this practice of the law to prevail, and the GOP conducts itself as if this is de facto law.

Accordingly, any claimant other than a white South African can arrive at that border, do his Les Misérables act, claim to face a “credible fear” back home, get a court date, and then bolt like so many rabbits, to be seen again only at the voting booth, the welfare office, the DMV and at DACA demonstrations. These “credible fear” incomers are also the malcontents holding up signs that read “America is racist.”

Whether this is the case or not in law, Democrats and Republicans alike behave as if the law actually dictates that invaders-cum-“refugees” are to be processed and never expelled, from the USA. That’s all you need to know.

The GOP, when it controlled both chambers and the presidency in 2016, had not voided the “credible fear” standard of open-border immigration, normalized by both parties. It won’t in the future, if past is prologue.

Deficits and national debt will not be reduced under the GOP; only the rate at which they grow will be manipulated by the Uniparty for public consumption.

And not one armed-and-dangerous IRS agent hired by the Dems will ever be fired by GOPers.

Remember: the UniParty = treason

UPDATE (8/25): “Succession” [sic]

Solutions are to be found against and outside of politics, in informal acts of secession.  (Or, “succession” [sic] as Victor Davis Hanson said on August 19 appallingly, on Fox News, at the 4:00 PM slot. Acolytes of the Church of Lincoln struggle to say or pronounce the word secession. CNN’s Don Lemon also says “succession.” Maybe they think it’s from the verb to “succeed.” No, it’s from “secede.” I give up if Hanson can’t speak English.)
